2009 Shaler Area Baseball Association (SABA)

 

The Shaler Area Baseball Association (SABA) is comprised of eight baseball organizations: Bauerstown, Braun Jeffery, DeHaven, Etna, Middle Road, Millvale, Morningside and Reserve.  SABA coordinates baseball for Farm League (Ages 9 & 10), Little League (Ages 11 & 12) and Pony League (Ages 13 & 14).

 

 

Farm League

In 2009, there are 19 teams participating in Farm League baseball.  The teams will play 16 games during the regular season.  All teams will be eligible for the post-season play-offs and will be seeded based on the following point system: 2 points for each win and 1 point for each tie.  Head-to-head results will be used as a tie-breaker for seeding.  There will be two divisions for the play-offs.  The top teams will be in the National League play-offs and the remaining teams will be in the American League play-offs.  The play-offs are single elimination and a champion will be crowned for both the National League and American League.  Play-off formats and divisions are subject to change at the discretion of SABA.

 

Little League

In 2009, there are 17 teams participating in Little League baseball.  The teams will play 16 games during the regular season.  All teams will be eligible for the post-season play-offs and will be seeded based on the following point system: 2 points for each win and 1 point for each tie.  Head-to-head results will be used as a tie-breaker for seeding.  There will be two divisions for the play-offs.  The top teams will be in the National League play-offs and the remaining teams will be in the American League play-offs.  The play-offs are single elimination and a champion will be crowned for both the National League and American League.  Play-off formats and divisions are subject to change at the discretion of SABA.
