We are always looking for help at the Burchfield Concession Stand. Our concessions stand helps raise money that MRAA uses to keep down the costs for playing ball. If you have time to volunteer an hour or so during games, please contact C-Director-Name and she will work with you to find a time to help out.

Concession Stand Operations

So, it’s your turn to run the stand.

Well, if you are new to this I’ve outlined some basic information that should help you through it.

If you’ve been working the concession stand since the day it was built, then maybe reviewing the following could help make the day captains’ (who generously give their
time to open and close the stand during the season) job easier along with helping me stay sane.

Like I said, the day captains will open the stand, the bathrooms, and get things going. They will start pretzels and hotdogs, turn on all the ovens and fryers but then
they leave. So now that your on your own here’s what you’ll need to know…

•••> Prices: Candy prices are marked on the boxes, and ice cream prices are marked on the ice cream sign. Prepared foods are marked on the whiteboard hanging on the
back wall. Drink prices are marked on the Pepsi cooler door, and slushie prices are marked on the wall by the slushie machine.

•••> Cooking food: Directions for cooking food are posted on the freezer door. Generally we only make 6 hotdogs and 6 pretzels ahead of time. Pizza can be made when
ordered, it only takes 5 minutes on the second oven rack. Pizza, French fries, chicken fingers, and funnel cakes are located in the freezer, and hotdogs and
pretzels are in the cooler. French fries, chicken fingers, and funnel cakes are deep fried and are cooked when ordered as well. Use the fryer on the left for
French fries and chicken and the fryer on the right for funnel cakes.

•••> Slushies: If the slushie machine is running low, there is already diluted mix in the cooler – you can pour it right into the machine (you probably won’t run out
unless its tournament season, in that case, fill an empty bottle to the 5:1 line with concentrate (beside freezer) and rest with water).

•••> Cleanup: Most importantly, at the end of the shift, wash any dishes you may have used, wipe down the counters, turn off the hot dog grill and wash once cooled,
and sweep the floor. The day captain will return to count money, restock, and lock up. If no one is there to close, then lock the bathroom doors (key in money
box inscribed with R/E), bring in the signs and gray garbage can, close/lock service window and concession stand door (this is usually not a problem, but sometimes
on weekends it happens).

Thank you so much for your help. I hope you found the concession stand well organized and easy to navigate. Your help is greatly appreciated, and remember, the profit
from the stand helps keeps our organization strong. If you have any questions, suggestions or grievances please send me an email or call.
