Directions to Burchfield
Elementary
From Turnpike:
- From Turnpike Exit #4
(Rte. 8), get off turnpike and bear left after toll booth on Rte. 8 South
(towards Etna/Pittsburgh)
- Follow Rte. 8
approximately 4 miles and you will pass a BP station on the right
- At the 2nd
traffic light past the BP, turn left on Burchfield Rd. (there will be an
abandoned gas station/mini-mart on left)
- Follow Burchfield
across bridge and at Burchfield Pizza, the road turns left up the hill
- Follow Burchfield up
the hill, past a small church on the left and Burchfield Elementary School will be on your right
(about 1/3 mile past the church)
- Fields are behind the
school
From Giant Eagle on Rte. 8 in Glenshaw:
- Take Rte. 8 North to 2nd
traffic light and turn right on Burchfield Rd.
- Follow Burchfield
across bridge and at Burchfield Pizza, the road turns left up the hill
- Follow Burchfield up
the hill, past a small church on the left and Burchfield Elementary School will be on your right
(about 1/3 mile past the church)
- Fields are behind the
school
From Etna (Rte 28):
- From intersection of
Rte. 28 & Rte. 8, take Rte. 8 North approximately 1 mile and turn
right on Saxonburg Blvd. (there will be Burger King, Taco Bell, Sunoco and
Eat’n Park at intersection)
- Make an immediate left
(around Eat’n Park) on Middle Road
- Follow Middle Road to top of hill and
then another mile to stop sign
- Go straight at stop
sign and pass Middle Road Fire Hall and follow to another stop sign
- Turn left on Burchfield Rd
- Follow Burchfield Road down hill to stop sign
- Go straight at stop
sign and Burchfield Elementary will be on your left
- Fields are behind the
school
From Wexford/Cranberry:
- From
Cranberry – take Rt 228 East to Rt 8 South
- Pass the ramp for the PA Turnpike
- Follow directions from above (from
turnpike)
- From Wexford – you can take Rt 910 East to Rt 8 South and
follow the directions above
- OR
- you can take 19 South
towards McKnight Road
- Turn Left on Duncan Avenue
- Follow Duncan Avenue to the 5-way
intersection with Thompson Run and Ferguson Rd.
- Go STRAIGHT thru at the
5-way to continue onto Ferguson Rd.
- Continue on Ferguson Rd until it comes to a
crooked T intersection at Mt Royal Blvd. (Get-Go on the left,
small shopping plaza on right)
- Turn Right onto Mt Royal Blvd.
- Make left turn onto Elfinwild Road.
- Follow Elfinwild curving down towards Rt
8. (Traffic light with Railroad tracks).
- Cross tracks and turn
right onto Rt 8.
- Next Traffic light – turn Left onto Burchfield Road
- Follow Burchfield
across bridge and at Burchfield Pizza, the road turns left up the hill
- Follow Burchfield up
the hill, past a small church on the left and Burchfield Elementary School will be on your right
(about 1/3 mile past the church)
- Fields are behind the
school
From Harmarville (Short-cut):
- From intersection of
Rte. 910 and Freeport Road, take Freeport Rd South about ¼ mile and turn
right at Eat’n Park
- Follow this road a
couple miles to stop sign (PPG Plant on right)
- Go straight at stop
sign, then bear right at “Y” and follow to stop sign
- Turn left on Dorseyville Rd and follow about 1/3
mile and turn right on Harts Run Rd.
- Follow Harts Run to
stop sign and turn left on Saxonburg Blvd.
- Go ¼ mile and make hard
right (hairpin turn) on Klein Road
- Follow Klein Rd to stop sign and go
straight and you will be on Burchfield Rd
- Follow Burchfield Road down hill to stop sign
- Go straight at stop
sign and Burchfield Elementary will be on your left
- Fields are behind the
